Large cursors are being used abusively on the web platform, to confuse users and prevent them from closing tabs, see. This spec can be updated to include a UA-specific max size policy. If an operating system is incapable of rendering a cursor above a given size, cursors larger than that size must be shrunk to within the OS-supported size bounds, while maintaining the cursor image’s intrinsic ratio, if any. By scaling down we reduce compat problems and align more closely with the spec : Instead, the custom cursor is dropped entirely. Primary eng (and PM) cursors with either width / height greater than 64 DIP will be scaled so that their maximum dimension is 64 DIP, while maintaining the images intrinsic ratio.Ĭurrently, we impose a 128 DIP restriction on size, but do not scale down the image if it exceeds the maximum.
